The most holiest week of the year started last Sunday, Palm Sunday, and goes through Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord. We can break apart all of the scriptures, including all of the Easter Vigil readings, which few communities ever read all of them, we can dissect Paul’s letters and look at the meaning behind his words in that first century, and we can look at all of the gospel readings, most especially the passion of Jesus, we can attend every liturgical ceremony held during the week, but if we fail to grasp what this means for us today in our lives, then none of the above matters.
Don’t misunderstand what I have written, or to try and put words in my mouth of what you think I am saying, because I will detail it out for you.
This week is about the Life, Death and Resurrection of God’s only Son, Jesus and not about anyone else. If we are truly believers in Jesus, then we understand what this means for us today:
1) We are sinners and he gave up His life to forgive us of our sins, past present and future.
2) He has taught us that we should forgive others who have wronged/hurt us.
3) He has taught us that we are all the same in God’s sight, no matter where we are from
4) That we are expected to give back to God a part of what He has given us
5) That we are to be full participants in our liturgical celebrations, not just bystanders
